Shining Start’s aim is to foster the emotional, physical, social, and intellectual growth in all our young children throughout the years. Our experience, understanding, and continuing education of the developmental needs of young children helps us provide the educational start your little one deserves.

We encourage children to learn through play and exploration.

We recognize that children grow at their own pace, which is why we are always there to engage with a child when they are curious about something new!

We understand that the role of the childcare teacher is not as a substitute parent, but as a caregiver and a teacher.

We hire only passionate individuals who can be positive role models for the children.

At Shining Start your child’s needs will be met by the experienced members of our staff. These staff members enjoy spending time with your child and ensuring that they are spending their time at our Shining Start preschool in the best way possible.

Our preschool is full of colors, numbers, shapes and more!

Your child will participate in activities that are specifically designed for their age group. Our teachers will do everything in their power to guarantee that your child enjoys the time they spend in our preschool facility, and enjoys activities that are both fun and educational.

During the day preschoolers are encouraged to express themselves through art. They will also actively participate in play time and enjoy many of the wonderful stories that our experienced staff members will read to them.

Our staff speak both Arabic and English.

We teach Quran daily and the children begin to memorize the Quran from 3 years old.

Physics 20

Your teen will explain and quantify predictions about changes in position, velocity and acceleration caused by interaction of objects. They’ll use Newton’s laws of motion to explain uniform circular and elliptical motion, as observed in a wheel or in orbits. Using an experimental and problem-based approach, your teen will quantify mechanical energy and explore the relationships among different forms of energy to understand conservation of energy. Your teen will also relate harmonic motion to technological applications, such as mechanical resonance in cars, and to the natural world, such as seismic waves in Earth’s crust. They’ll describe how mechanical waves transmit energy, and they’ll describe the factors that affect wave speed.

Physics 30

Your teen will explore the application of physics principles to explain natural events and the technologies we use every day. They’ll study momentum and impulse, explain how momentum is conserved when objects interact and apply their understanding to safety and sports equipment. Your teen will describe the motion of electric charges and its relevance to magnetic fields, and they’ll analyze the benefits and risks of electromagnetic technologies, such as magnetic resonance imaging and generators. They’ll use the wave and photon models of light to describe electromagnetic radiation and to better understand electromagnetic phenomena, including the photoelectric effect and electron diffraction. Your teen will also study the atom—its internal structure and energy—to understand matter, energy and our universe

High School Science https://dev.almustafaacademy.ca/high-school-science/ https://dev.almustafaacademy.ca/high-school-science/#respond Tue, 15 Aug 2023 17:07:58 +0000 https://dev.almustafaacademy.ca/?p=1329

Students will develop the science-related knowledge, skills and attitudes that they need to solve problems and make decisions, and at the same time help them become lifelong learners— maintaining their sense of wonder about the world around them.

Level - Science 10

Science 10 students are introduced to the biological, chemical, physical and Earth sciences. By studying chemical reactions, cellular and multicellular processes that occur in plants, the conservation and conversion of energy, and Earth’s climate, they discover how energy is transformed.

Level - Science 20

Students in Science 20 extend their study of the biological, chemical, physical and Earth sciences and apply their knowledge to real-life problems. They investigate Newton’s laws of motion, the properties of hydrocarbons and the chemistry of solutions. They examine evidence of how Earth’s surface, climate and life forms have changed and continue to change and cycle in response to natural and human actions.

Level - Science 30

Students sharpen their scientific skills and explore a wide range of scientific concepts to strengthen their foundations in science. They investigate human systems and health, and environmentally sustainable solutions for meeting global energy needs. They also examine the impacts of chemicals in society and the environment and examine the properties and applications of electromagnetic energy.

Math 10

Mathematics 10 students determine the surface area and volume of 3-D objects and use trigonometric ratios to solve problems involving right triangles. They simplify expressions that involve powers with integral and rational exponents and simplify or factor polynomial expressions. At this level, students also analyze linear relations, solve systems of linear equations and solve problems related to both of these sets of skills.

Math 20

Mathematics 20 students investigate arithmetic and geometric patterns and use the sine and cosine laws to solve problems involving triangles. They investigate the properties of radicals and rational expressions. Mathematics 20-1 students also analyze the characteristics of absolute value functions and quadratic functions, solve quadratic equations and systems of equations in various ways, and analyze the relationship between a function and its reciprocal.

Math 30

Mathematics 30 students investigate the properties of logarithms; study the characteristics and transformations of trigonometric, polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions by sketching and analyzing their graphs; and solve equations and problems related to these functions. Students also use basic counting principles to determine the number of permutations or combinations of the elements of a set to solve problems.
